Surf Fishing Report:

It is September already! A beautiful day on the Outer Banks. It looks like a good fishing day. I have seen some nice size Sea Mullet caught from the surf this week. A 1 ½ lb Sea Mullet is citation size.   You can catch Sea Mullet with shrimp, bloodworms, sand fleas and simulated bait on a bottom rig. Sea Mullet are usually caught in somewhat rough and cloudy water.

There is good news. Cape Point was open Monday to driving.

The wind is N at 4 and the water temp is 79 degrees.

 

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout and Croakers.

 

Pier Fishing Report:

Avalon: A few Blues.

Nags Head: Slow.

Jennette’s: Spanish, Blues, Bar Jacks, Pinfish and Pigfish.

Outer Banks: Pompano and Sea Mullet.

 

Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
The nearshore boat caught plenty of Spanish, some Bluefish and Albacore. The inshore morning and afternoon anglers returned to the docks with nice size Cobia. 2 citations weighing in at 43 lb and 45 lbs. They also caught Blues, Spanish and Ribbonfish. Inlet Anglers caught Gray Trout, Flounder and Croakers.


Offshore Boats Report:
The fleet limited out with Dolphin. The good news is the Yellowfin and Blackfin are showing again. There was 1 Blue Marlin and many White releases.
