Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

It sure has been an interesting summer! We’re finally seeing some warmer water temps and the recent storms (first Debbie, now Ernesto), have made it an interesting summer to navigate the fishing!

The piers have been reporting some small Cobia, Bluefish, Spanish, a few spot and Triggerfish. We’ve also heard reports of Black Drum and Sea Mullet here and there. Surf fishing anglers have been reelin’ in Blues and Spanish. The Sea Mullet fishing has also been good from the surf. We should expect a big swell the next few days due to Hurricane Ernesto churning things up off the coast, but hopefully that will turn on the drum bite as we saw with the last storm.

We continue to see Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum being caught by the inshore anglers. The sheepshead bite has also been productive! Nearshore boats are still finding Drum, Triggerfish, and Ribbonfish.

Brody Pittman and Shoal Vann are spending their last few weeks of summer catching fish before back to school rolls around! They’re pictures with a load of white perch and also caught a Bluegill and a Catfish!

Yesterday wrapped up the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament! It was an exciting week with some Sailfish, Blue Marlin, and White Marlin being caught along with a few meat fish. A few Tunas, Wahoo, and Dolphin were brought in to be weighed at the scales. Congratulations to the crew on the Pelican with their win!
