Event Description:
Join us for the opening reception for local artist, Jerry Dorman. Refreshments will be served and Dorman will give a brief talk about his art at 11:20 a.m.
Jerry Dorman was born in New Jersey in 1951. He moved to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in the early 70s. He earned a BFA in painting and printmaking from VCU in Richmond Virginia.
The majority of his work is based on the ocean. His love of surfing and waveforms has been the theme of his work for the past 50 years.
Dorman's work in acrylic features mostly gorgeous, glassy waves. Realistic and abstract he strives to capture the beauty and motion of the ever-changing Sea. He frames his own work as he is also a woodworker.
