Building a Nest within Your World

By Hannah Lee Leidy | Friday, October 18, 2019

Nest owner Nancy Seitz matches her passion for fashion and decor with her passion for traveling. Her excursions to Europe and more distant ports of call guarantee new products into Nest upon her return. Step out of downtown Manteo and into this little white cottage on the periphery of Magnolia Market Square. There, the essence of France, Italy, Indonesia, the Hamptons and California mingle in a menagerie of apparel and accessories, home decor, niche fragrances and other finery.

Decorative homewares, handcrafted jewelry and fragrances wrapped like gifts wink in the glow of the fairy lights adorning the shop. A variety of touchable textures line the walls and tempt shoppers with offers of silk, velvet, linen and cashmere clothing and accessories. There’s no single theme to this selection beyond looking and feeling good. With these dresses, wraps, sweaters, pants and hats, wearers effortlessly shift from backyard dinner parties to the streets of Manhattan to quiet evenings spent lounging in a fireside nook. Inside of the cozy yet cosmopolitan spot, a shopper can’t help but feel inspired to create such a nest of her own.
