90 and still soaring! Jim Humphries celebrated his 90th birthday by taking flight with us—and what a story he brought with him! Jim, a career Air Force test pilot who once flew an F-104 Starfighter to 88,000 feet, wanted to experience human flight in the ways of one our favorite flying figures: Otto Lilienthal! Jim told us Lilienthal’s flights were “closer to mankind’s vision of human flight than anyone before or since.” Inspired by that dream, he completed 6 flights at 90 years young! Talk about living the dream of flight. Happy Birthday, Jim! It was great teaching you to fly and learning some cool stuff along the way.
