While the majority of Americans celebrate the patron saint of Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, very few honor the patron saint of England on St. George’s Day.
Here in the Town of Manteo, St. George is kind of a big deal…so much so that we use St. George’s Cross as our town’s official flag.
Well, as Michael Ware reminded us, the days of St. George being overlooked around here are over. So THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 23, we are launching a new annual event: ST. GEORGE’S DAY! Drop by the Tavern on Sunday for a very special St. George’s Day menu featuring a one-day-only return of some of our favorite English dishes including:
