Here at Lost Colony Tavern, we don’t celebrate “Father’s Day.” Instead, we celebrate “Dad’s Day.” And while it may seem trivial, it’s an important distinction. The only requirement to be a “father” is the donation of genetic material. Being a “Dad,” however, requires so much more.
Being a Dad requires patience, respect, and an investment of quality time. It requires love, support, and a strong moral compass. But most importantly, it requires an unconditional commitment to doing whatever is necessary to provide the best foundation possible to raise their girls to be strong, independent WOMEN who are armed to break glass ceilings, and their boys to be respectful MEN of integrity who know that “no means no” and who will always open doors for a woman…not because she needs him to, but because she deserves his respect.
Today we’re raising a glass to all of you DADS out there who have dedicated your lives to raising your kids to be incredible human beings who will move our society forward. CHEERS to all you DADS….you are our HEROES!!
