MPT sponsors the tour to encourage the public’s understanding and appreciation of the historic heritage of Manteo and Roanoke Island, both architecturally and culturally. The Holiday Tour of Homes is one of the highlights of a festive weekend of events in Manteo including the town’s holiday pageant and tree lighting on Friday evening, the Christmas parade on Saturday morning (50+ years running), Christmas on the North End at Island Farm on Friday and Saturday, and Winter Lights at the Elizabethan Gardens on the north end of the island.
