For the last 18 years, Wild Horse Adventure Tours has been offering educational and entertaining horse tours in the four-wheel-drive area of Northern Corolla. In addition to enjoying our guests on an everyday basis, we take pride in the fact that we are active proponates for the horses, their environment, and the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. “Our guides pour their hearts into giving the best experience possible, while advocating for the preservation of our herd,” says Grady “Tree” Cole, lead tour guide for W.H.A.T. “so being recognized for our efforts feels really good and is definitely appreciated.” In addition to utilizing best practices in our day-to-day touring, W.H.A.T. seeks to protect the horses and their habitat by purchasing and owning land in the Swan Beach area for the specific purpose of offering a sanctuary for the horses and other wildlife that thrive on the Outer Banks.

One of our 2-hour tours is, by design, a streamlined, fluid experience. From the unique thrill of riding in one of our modified Humvees--kept in tip-top condition by our lot wizards, led by Rob L., who brings over 40 years of auto-mechanic experience to our company--to our friendly, cohesive office team, it speaks to the culture of the company when you have staff returning year after year. Dan Lane, a nine-year fixture in the W.H.A.T. tour office says it best, “I’ve found that the management at W.H.A.T. is fundamentally serious about protecting and promoting the safety of the horses,” and he goes on to add, “for my entire tenure here, that goal has never changed and the people here have never waivered in their dedication.” Plus…we have a heck of a lot of fun together.

Big Bull -- Tripp Phillips of Manteo just caught and released this giant, 49 - inch RED DRUM while competing in the Outer Banks Association of Realtors fishing tournament, which moved to the piers due to difficult beach driving conditions, strong winds and heavy surf. He was fishing with his dad for Team Island Insurance.
