The Lost Colony Announces Theatre Camp For The 2026 Season! 🌟
🗓️ The Roanoke Island Historical Association is pleased to announce The Lost Colony Theatre Camp, taking place August 3-7, 2026.
🎭 This five-day camp, open to ages 8-11, will feature puppetry, dance, improv, stage combat, audition classes and more, all taught by members of the 2026 Company of The Lost Colony. At the end of the week, on August 7th, campers will make a cameo appearance in that evening’s performance of The Lost Colony.

We’re excited to announce expanded dinner hours at Rusty's Surf & Turf. We’re now serving dinner Wednesday through Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Closed Tuesdays only. Reservations are not required, but they are strongly suggested during this busy time of year. It’s an unfortunate reality that on some nights we simply can’t feed everyone who wants to join us — and we truly hate turning folks away.

Whether you’re coming from Hatteras Village, Avon, or even Rodanthe — it’s an easy 15 to 30 minute drive. Come on down for fresh Outer Banks seafood and our travel-inspired coastal Italian dishes!

Halloween Island returns this October with all-new fun for 2026! Join us this autumn for HALLOWEEN ISLAND 3, Roanoke Island’s spooktacular month-long charity bar crawl that puts the “fun” in “fundraising,” with all proceeds benefitting the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, which provides emergency assistance to those in need throughout Dare County.

Looking for summertime activities for your kids on Ocracoke? Give them a fun, creative outlet at the free Kids' Theatre Camp with Naomi Phillips, for ages 5-12!

Hosted by Ocracoke Alive at Deepwater Theater, these sessions will help your kids build confidence, make new friends, and put on a real show for family and the community, all while having a blast.

This week, our The Lost Colony cast stepped out of Waterside Theatre with a visit to the Wright Brothers National Memorial. 🛩️

From the story of America’s first English colony to the place where flight changed the world, there’s something special about exploring the history that shaped the Outer Banks.

The cast took in the views, walked where aviation history was made, and got a reminder that this stretch of sand has inspired big stories for centuries.

Get an exciting start to your day at the Aquarium as you assist our staff with a stingray morning feeding, while learning about a few of the resident species. Participants will visit a behind the scenes prep kitchen, broadcast feed the stingrays at the touch pool, and then eat a continental breakfast in our classroom while learning a little more about stingrays!
