The horses are seasonal grazers - they eat different things at different times of the year. March is a transitional month and the pickings are a bit slim, but that’s as nature intended. It’s important that the horses go into spring on the leaner side so that all the new, green grass doesn’t cause serious health issues for them. The Banker horses are well-adapted to this environment and can survive (and thrive) on rough forage and very few calories. Honeysuckle vine and Russian olive are two of the more interesting plants we’ve observed them eating lately.

Join the Brewing Station crew for a St. Patrick’s day themed beer mile. Backyard party, chip timing and T-shirt included. This is an adult 21 and over only social run. Prizes to the fastest male and female overall. Wear your Holiday finest, costume contest judging for most creative.

Late registration and Check-in 1 PM – 1:45 PM Saturday March 15, 2025. This is a Mass start event. Beverages are 10 oz and Runs are ¼ mile. Admission is $40.00 Online and walk-up registration is available.

These are some of the plants that join the Camellias in recognizing that longer, warmer days are soon ahead for us all! Thank goodness. Thought the days are not perfect, ANY excuse to get in the landscape is the best excuse. It's time to plant trees, shrubs, and non-tender plants that can catch on and get settled in a bit before the growing season really kicks off properly. They may not be as showy as the brilliantly colored Camellias, their interest is undeniable and downright outstanding. We keep our nursery stocked with many of these hard to find plants, please come see what is coming along next in the garden and nursery.
