"Will we see horses?"

We fully embrace the “adventure” experience of our tours--the thrill of cruising along the beach as frothy waves roll in, catching a glimpse of the dolphins at play, hearing the seagulls calling, even catching the bald eagles nesting—all while our experienced guides offer insightful, fun and intriguing information about the Banker horses.

While our full intent is to locate and enjoy as many horses for our guests as possible, we also recognize that the horses have weathered a long and harsh winter and this time of the year, they're often nourishing their empty bellies on the fresh greens that are beginning to grow in the many acres of property by the sound. To respect both the laws in Currituck County and the sanctuary land around them, we will only drive on public areas.

So, while the guides are willing, knowledgable and dedicated, sometimes the tours need to be enjoyed for the experience: the learning about the horses and their environment, the discovery of the other wildlife that calls Corolla, home....and, of course, being on the beach in one of our awesome humvees 😉

IT'S A GIRL! And her name is....Folly!

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund has made it official by announcing the birth of the second wild Banker foal for the 2025 season! She was born on April 1st (no foolin'....get it? Folly...April Fool?) and both she and momma are doing well.

Again, we urge you to offer these and ALL the horses their space, despite the temptation to get close to "ooo" and "ahh" the new baby. REMEMBER: 50 feet away, no contact, and absolutely NO feeding will go a long way in keeping our Banker horses around for generations to come.
