In February of this year, Milly King—our son Jack’s bestie—was diagnosed with Leukemia at just 5 years old. Watching our sweet Mills and her family face something so unimaginable rocked us, and we’ve been racking our brains for ways to show our love, lift up the King family, and support all families walking this heavy road.
This September, for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Slash Creek Outfitters is GOING GOLD FOR MILLY and every warrior kiddo battling cancer. 🎗️✨
Here is how we are turning our shop into a force for hope all month long:
✋ $5 for 5 Years Old: For every transaction made throughout September, Slash Creek Outfitters is donating $5 directly to childhood cancer and leukemia research in honor of Milly’s diagnosis at age 5.
✋ The Gold Out Board: Stop by to get a gold “High Five” cutout. Write a message of encouragement, honor a fighter, or sign your name to help us fill our shop wall with gold!
✋ Add Your Support: Want to do even more? We will have a donation jar available to go straight to the cause.

We’ll be open the rest of this week through Sunday, unless we sell out of too many items earlier. 🦐 There’s been a lot of guessing about why we’re pausing... I don’t usually put my private life out here, but on the island a silence gets filled with fiction. Here’s what’s actually going on:
The 10 day pause is due to an ABC paperwork and a sample issue. We’re working through it.
The other reason is my shoulder. I thought it was just arthritis. I was wrong. The cartilage is gone, there are bone spurs, and the joint has collapsed, whatever that means.. I’ve been cooking through it and put the surgery off to keep the place running. A cleanup won’t fix it. I need a replacement. Recovery will take longer than I had hoped, so I can’t commit to the fall pop-ups yet. Dates depend on when the surgery happens and how recovery goes. I’ll share them here when I know.
This is not a permanent closing.
