The Island Inn/Odd Fellows Lodge project is still underway even though we haven’t posted much about it lately. I did speak with Chester Lynn recently, and he was telling me stories about when he ran the restaurant there. Per the Hyde County Historical And Genealogical Society, these recipes are in the book “North Carolina’s Historic Restaurants and their recipes” by Dawn O’Brien with drawings by Janice Murphy (1983 John F. Blair, Publisher). The book is a collection of recipes - along with a little bit of history of the featured historic restaurants - from all across NC. The Island Inn on Ocracoke was one of them!
