It's spooky season on the Outer Banks and the Halloween-themed events are stacking up. Whether you're in it for the scares, the socializing or the family-friendly fun, this week brings plenty of opportunities to celebrate Halloween. Below are a few of this week's featured events, and you'll find even more on our Daytime and Nightlife events pages.

Ghostly Gallies of the Outer Banks

What: Halloween-themed food and drink specials plus special events (live music, trivia, silent disco, trunk or treat, costume contests) at four local restaurants/bars

Where: Monster Kwans (Mama Kwan’s), Spooky 12 (Lucky 12), Gloombays (Goombays), Shack of Shadows (Bonzer Shack)

What: Spooky outdoor haunted attraction

Where: 208 Reggie Ownes Drive, Harbinger (Currituck mainland)

Night of 1587 Pumpkins

What: Trick or treating, scream and costume contests, food, bonfires and 1,587 illuminated pumpkins. Come in costume and bring a jack-o-lantern. Community pumpkin carving on October 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
