Our goal for our guests is to search for bottlenose dolphins and local species of birds while taking pleasure in the splendid scenery along the way. Bottlenose dolphins, well known for their intelligence, friendly disposition, and “smiling” faces, have been interacting with humans for centuries and seem to have as much interest in us as we have in them. They often swim near the Kokomo, lifting their heads out of the water to get a glance at all the people on board.

2023 has been quite a year for Ocracoke Alive! We helped The Island Inn Commons by working on a Fig Tree Garden and sponsoring a mural project to bring public art to and raise funds for the restoration of the historic Island Inn. We hosted a Shakespeare troupe, visiting artist Vaughn Garland, a screening of the documentary A Binding Truth, and the weekly gathering of the Ocracoke Needle and Thread group. Our partnership with the 21st Century Community Learning Center allowed us to make this year’s Ocracoke School Arts Week a wonderful learning experience for the students of Ocracoke School. The Ocracoke Opry made a triumphant return to the stage this year, hosting weekly concerts in the summer and fall in the Deepwater Theater Space. Our annual Ocrafolk Festival and Latino Festival brought musicians, artists, and visitors from all over the world to share in these rich, cultural experiences.
We are so grateful to have shared these experiences with all of you, and we could not do it without your support. Please consider a year-end donation to help us sustain our mission to provide cultural arts programming to our island’s residents and visitors.

?✨ Last night, Chef Chory, Jamie and the wonderful team at Red Sky hosted what our guests dubbed the ‘best event yet’ from our dinner and drink series. Our Navidad Mexicana menu served up holiday magic with Duck Tostada, Pescado Zarandeado, Pozole, Nopal Corn Esquite with Scallop, Tamales, and a heavenly Red Velvet Tres Leches (made with love by @ffbakeshop ) Each dish paired perfectly with crafted mezcal and tequila cocktails, spreading joy and merriment. Heartfelt gratitude to our fantastic guests and staff for making it a truly jolly night!

Carolina Bar-B-Que Co is taking Prime Rib orders for Christmas. Fully seasoned and cooked. We will cut to order, just let us know # of slices and thickness, and all you'll need to do is heat it up to 125° for rare or 135° for medium. Then cut and serve.
